Schools in Pakistan canceled to sing the song "Imagine" by John Lennon because it contains the message of atheism
A school in Karachi (Grammar School), Pakistan canceled to sing John Lennon song "Imagine" which was prepared for the students' annual concert. This is because of criticism from various circles in social media who think that the lyrics of The Beatles song contains the message of atheism.
"A private school in Karachi held a concert on Friday. Students will sing John Lennon's lyrics-no heaven, no hell, no religion, "Ansar Abbasi wrote via Twitter account @AnsarAAbbasi.
According to the school, they can not sing the song for fear of being subjected to a lawsuit related to religious defamation if singing the song.
