Vice chairman of Samsung Electronics was sentenced to five years in prison
Lee Jae-yong, the vice chairman of Samsung Electronics Group, was sentenced to five years in prison On Friday, August 25, 2017 after undergoing a six-month trial for the bribery case.
The Seoul court declared that Lee proved to be bribing with hope of receiving special treatment from Park Geun-hye who is the South Korean President who served at the time.
In addition, the court also stated that Lee was guilty of hiding his assets abroad, embezzling and perjury. Earlier, Lee has been detained since February for this alleged case charges.
