Ram Nath Kovind officially became India's 14th new President

Ram Nath Kovind has been sworn in as India's 14th new president on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. He became the first member of the strong Hindu nationalist movement to occupy the highest public office in the country.Quoted from Asian Correspondent, Wednesday 26 July 2017, Kovind enhances the representation of the Sudra caste community, which is an ancient Indian caste hierarchy. Its presence has the potential to help Prime Minister Narendra Modi extend his electorate base in the 2019 general election.

In the inauguration, Kovind also gave speeches and praised the diversity of India, as a unique country.
"I am subject to this huge 1.25 billion citizens and pledge to remain faithful to the trust they have given me," Kovind said in the main hall of Parliament.
Before becoming president, Kovind was a veteran politician and a lawyer with an ordinary profile. In addition, he is a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or National Volunteers Association, a grassroots movement that also helped start Modi's political.
